Ballerina Christening Cake – Inspired by Michelle Cake Designs
I have just noticed that all the words from this post are missing!! So here I go again…
This ballerina christening cake was an absolute joy to make. I have met some of the nicest people making cakes for them and this was one of those occasions.
A ballerina cake is a sweet idea for a little girls christening cake. The ballerina is the one from Debbie Brown’s “Enchanting Magical Cakes” and as I was making her I wondered just how many 1000′s of times this had been made all around the world!!
The original idea was the actual cake but here I made the ballerina as a cake topper so that she could be kept. The idea was also to make her look a little younger than the original as it was for a christening cake.
The colours on the cake matched the balloons that decorated the tables and room. I actually sat there with blown up balloons to make sure I got the colours perfect.
The tiers were quilted and finished with little fondant blossoms and the smallest silver sugar balls.
It is so nice to finish a cake and know that you got the clients brief perfect – I actually wanted to keep this cake for my display case. I also received a lovely thank you which always put a smile on my face.
I can not remember what else I originally wrote but I think I have covered everything.
Bye for now, Michelle
