This 21st birthday cake idea present design has to be my most popular when I’m asked to do two tiers but this week for the first time I was asked to make it in colours other than pink and white!! I was starting to think this would never happen.
This is the original design which was actually the first cake I posted in this blog.
This time the hearts were replaced with polka dots but other than that it is the same. You could also use stars or flowers in the design.
I did include a swing tag with initial in diamante on the top tier.
I really like the tiffany blue, white, black and silver colour combination.
The top tier was white mud cake layered with white chocolate ganache and the bottom tier chocolate mud with dark chocolate ganache.
Bye for now, Michelle

Your work is awesome.
6. Pretty nice post. I just stumbled upon your weblog and wanted to say that I’ve really enjoyed surfing around your blog posts. After all I’ll be subscribing to your rss feed and I hope you write again very soon!
That cake is awesome. I would like to order 1 but pink instead of blue for my niece’s 21st birthday. It is possible? If so, how much would that be? Thanks
Hi Tina, anything is possible so of course the cake comes in pink – I made two pink versions this week one for a 21st Birthday and the other a Sweet 16 Birthday.
You can email me at inspiredbymichelle@gmail.com all I need to know is the date for the celebration, and how many guests the cake needs to serve so I can size the tiers for you. I look forward to hearing from you.
Bye for now, Michelle
Hi,
I tried and tried and completely failed at making the bow at the top of your cake. Can you please let me know how you did yours?.
I couldn’t get the shape right or get it to set correctly….perhaps I used the wrong icing??
Thanks,
Hi Michelle first of all i want to say that i just Love your work you are amazing .
Michelle can i just ask what sizes are this cakes, and how tall are they .
Many thanks ..
Hi Ana, the tiers are 4″ in height and from memory the tiers are 6″ square and 9″ square. You need at least 3″ difference between the size of the tiers so that the top one can sit on the diamond.
Thank you for asking. Bye for now, Michelle
hi how much notice do you need for this cake and whats the cost as its my 21 in may and really would love a cake like this ??
Hi Danielle, I have just noticed your email address is UK and I am in Australia. I’m actually fully booked now till August crazy I know but as I am teaching now there is less time for cakes. Have a wonderful 21st birthday celebration. Bye for now, Michelle
